I admit it: I had fun watching right-wingers go wild as health reform finally became law. But a few days later, it doesn’t seem quite as entertaining — and not just because of the wave of vandalism and threats aimed at Democratic lawmakers. For if you care about America’s future, you can’t be happy as extremists take full control of one of our two great political parties.

“The task now shifts from legislation to persuasion,” says William Galston, a White House domestic policy adviser in the Clinton administration. Obama communications director Dan Pfeiffer says Obama plans “a sustained campaign to educate the public about the immediate benefits of health reforms.”

Today on the House floor, Nunes railed against the Democrats’ plan, saying "this debate is not about the uninsured, it’s about socialized medicine."

He continued: "For most of the 20th century people fled the ghosts of communist dictators. And now you are bringing the ghosts back into this chamber."
